Basically, all users can annotate, save and share webpages, send them as email or embed them as widgets in your own website.
If you have an account, you'll receive notifications when someone leave you a comment, moderate those comments, have a SharedCopy homepage to share & syndicate links, make use of Add-Ons to propagate your comments to other sites like Twitter, Basecamp, Bugzilla, etc...
As long as you and your collaborators can all see the original web page, it can lets you share comments with each other seamlessly. Your collaborators doesn't even need Javascript to view your annotations.
